Today is my birthday! I woke up this morning feeling much wiser than before as if information had been downloaded to my brain like in The Matrix. OK, not really. I woke up in my usual sleepy stupor, dragged myself to the shower, threw on some makeup, ran a brush through my hair, and called it good. This is my typical morning. I have never been a morning person, but luckily I married someone who is! Anyway, onto my annual birthday drink! This year I decided to make the ole Irish tried and true, Black Velvet, which is half Strongbow cider and half Guinness Stout. The cider goes on the bottom and using a Guinness spoon (it needs to be a beer spoon so it’s the right size), pour the Guinness over the spoon into the glass and the drink becomes a nice separation of light and dark. It’s a fun drink to make and a tasty one! Bottoms up!
